Back-to-School Supplements for Kids: Starting the School Year with Intention

It's that time of year again. With the new school year here, it’s a great time to set an intentional new routine. These are some of my favorite supplements to support a healthy back-to-school season for kids:

Core Immune Kids

Many parents dread back-to-school because it’s the time of the year where all of those pesky colds inevitably start hitting our families. An immune-boosting supplement is key for protecting your kids and your family from nasty illness. Core Immune Kids is a daily and delicious chewable supplement that boosts immune function and provides support for immune challenges. It contains elderberry and astragalus, as well as key nutrients like zinc, vitamin C, and vitamin A. The elderberry is responsible for the delicious taste and fun purple color but watch out for purple tongues!

Liquid Vitamin D3

Vitamin D plays an extremely important role in brain and bone health, mood, energy, and the immune system, making it essential for back-to-school. Unlike other vitamins, vitamin D does not occur naturally in many foods. In Ohio, even in the summer, it’s almost impossible to maintain this high of a vitamin D level from time in the sun alone. With days getting shorter and less time spent outdoors, it’s important to ensure that your kids are getting enough vitamin D to fuel long days of class, homework, and extracurricular activities.

Liquid Vitamin D3 can be a great option for those who are unable to swallow capsules. One drop contains 1,000 units of vitamin D3 and can be taken directly on the tongue or mixed with your kid’s beverage of choice.

Start the School Year Strong!

Back-to-school season is the perfect opportunity to get your family back into routines that support health, energy, and resilience. While supplements are just one piece of the puzzle, they can be a simple way to help fill nutritional gaps and give your kids extra support as they head into a busy new school year.

Pair these supplements with nourishing meals, plenty of water, quality sleep, time outdoors, and lots of movement, and you’ll be setting your kids up for a healthy and energized year ahead!

Here’s to a happy, healthy, and intentional start to the school year!

In this episode of Intentional Living with Emlah, I sit down with board-certified internist Dr. Bhavesh Patel to talk about intentional health, men’s midlife health, and one of the biggest threats to longevity: cardiovascular disease. We discuss why men often put their own health last, what changes can happen during midlife, including lower testosterone, fatigue, low energy, and changes in libido, and why staying ahead of your health is more effective than waiting for a crisis.

Let that sink in for a second. That's not a rare outcome; it's closer to a coin flip. And yet bone health is one of the things we tend to think about only after something breaks. The problem is that osteoporosis is silent. There's no pain, no symptom, no warning sign until a fracture happens. By then, you're not just dealing with a broken bone; you're dealing with the downstream effects: mobility loss, longer recovery times, and a higher risk of it happening again. The good news: this is one...

The Relationship Prescription Nobody Writes Most conversations about health revolve around diet, exercise, and medications or supplements. But one of the most powerful influences on our health isn’t found in a bottle or on a plate; it’s our relationships. As a pharmacist, one of the hardest conversations I have with patients is hearing, "My doctor says everything looks fine... but I still don't feel like myself." If you're struggling with stubborn weight, low energy, poor sleep, or simply don't feel as healthy and vibrant as you want to, you're not alone. Too many people are told to "eat less and exercise more" without being given the tools, support, and guidance to create lasting change. That's why I created Revitalize. I believe weight loss...
