In this week's episode of Intentional Living with Emlah, I am joined by my dear friend, Jennifer Miller, child and adolescent development coach and author of Confident Parents, Raising Confident Kids. Together, we explore what intentional living truly means, especially in the context of parenting. Jen shares how intention differs from goals, emphasizing how we choose to show up in the world rather than simply what we achieve. The conversation weaves through emotional intelligence, pausing instead of reacting, and modeling the values we hope to instill in our children. Using powerful metaphors like music and choir, Jennifer reframes family life as an emotional climate we help create, one where listening, naming emotions, and fostering belonging are essential.

The episode also highlights the deep connection between personal health and confident parenting. Jennifer reflects on her own transformation through my Revitalize coaching program, sharing how data-driven care, sustainable habits, and consistent support helped her regain energy, balance hormones, improve mood, and ultimately “feel like herself again.”

The conversation highlights a central theme of the podcast: strengthening the four pillars of intentional living (nutrition, movement, inner alignment, and positive social connections) allows us to show up more fully for ourselves and the people we love. Listeners are encouraged to take one simple, intentional step each day, starting with a daily “heart check-in,” as a powerful practice for living with clarity, connection, and purpose.

For those interested in learning more about the program Jennifer completed and shared about in this episode… Revitalize Ideal Weight & Intentional Living Program is designed to support meaningful, sustainable weight loss by addressing the root causes rather than relying on quick fixes. Through comprehensive lab testing, personalized nutrition and movement strategies, and coaching across the four pillars participants learn how to lose weight in a way that is realistic and maintainable. In Jennifer's experience, these small, consistent changes led to significant weight loss, improved energy, hormonal balance, and a renewed sense of feeling like herself again.

If you are ready to say,

  • I feel like myself again
  • My menopause symptoms have resolved
  • I lost 23lbs in two months by lifestyle changes

As we close out our 4-week journey through the Four Pillars of Intentional Living - Nutrition, Movement, Inner Alignment, and now our fourth and final pillar - Positive Social Connections - I keep coming back to one simple truth: wellness is not meant to be done alone. This pillar is often the most overlooked, yet it may be the most powerful. Research shows that loneliness and social isolation are linked to a 26–29% higher risk of premature death, a risk comparable to well-known factors like...

We’ve spent the last few weeks walking through the Four Pillars of Intentional Living, and this week we’re focusing on one of my favorites: Inner Alignment. Inner Alignment can mean many things, emotional steadiness, mental clarity, feeling grounded in your day-to-day life. But as a pharmacist, I often look at Inner Alignment through a slightly different (and very practical) lens: biomarker alignment. Because here’s the truth, your body whispers long before it screams. Subtle symptoms show up...

This week, we’re turning our attention to the Movement pillar. Movement is about more than formal workouts or step goals (although these are important) it’s about supporting how our bodies are designed to function every day. Regular movement improves insulin sensitivity, supports cardiovascular health, preserves muscle mass, and plays a critical role in metabolic and hormonal balance. Even brief bouts of movement throughout the day can reduce inflammation, enhance circulation, and improve...
